The French Clubmatch

Here is a little report from our trip to St. Tropez, 2010. It was a looong drive down, it took us about 32 hours this time. We changed between driving and sleeping to get there as soon as possible. We arrived late Tuesday and stopped by the mall to buy some essentials. The next morning we met up with our Swedish friends and had a nice breakfast together. We explored around Ramatuelle/St. Tropez the next following days, before it was showtime on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday it was the puppies and debutants, but also a new cup - Fenlon cup - which was a country-competition. We had to be 3 different breeders with a total of 5 dogs. One of those HAD to be a senior or a veteran and one Junior. It also had to be to males/three females or opposite. There were three countries competing - Norway, France and Italy, and the cup went to France. We are really proud that such a small country as Norway can get three different breeders to a show like that, and also fulfill the other requirements. :-)

On Sunday it was "the" show. Espen was showing Hellga and I was showing Lucifer. We had also entered Donatella for championclass and it got a bit tight between the classes so I ran down and asked the judge if I could go last with her, which I could. They do it differently at the clubmatch, with several judges and several rings, so it can be a bit challenging some times. Anyways, Lucifer were in a class of 20 males, and got picked to the Ring d'Honeur. :-))) Hellga was not picked, and she got a Trés Bon. Donatella got Excellent but didn't go further this time. Lucifer ended as nr 4 in his class with a nice trophy, and we are really happy with all the results from this trip.

We have had a wonderful time with friends. Barbeque, lunches and dinners on restaurants - even on a Michelin-restaurant! We want to go back sometime. :-)

Thank you everyone for a great time. Here's a bunch of pictures from our trip:
