Diary 2008

March 17th:

Another great weekend has passed! I went to our friends at kennel Hjärtekulla in Gothenburg on Friday. I decided to fly this time, and Elisabeth picked me up at the airport. It was so nice to see her and her husband Jussi again. Two wonderful people that makes great company. When we arrived their home, we sat down and enjoyed a nice dinner, and then we called it an early night. The next day it was the International show in Malmø, so we had to be up bright and early. :-) The day got a bit longer than expected, as the judge was very thorough and took his time with every dog. But it was all worth the wait, since Elisabeth's dog Barbro got it all - CAC, CACIB and BOB! And our friends at kennel Doguehill's got best opposite, CAC and CACIB with their new male Oden (Ali G). Big congratulations!

After the show, we went back home to Elisabeth, and it felt good to relax on the sofa and check out all the greetings in their guestbook. It is nice to see that so many people can share their success. :-) In the evening we ate some great food, and celebrated with some sparkling wine which we got from our friends Ylva and Ragge. A very nice gesture. :-)
After enjoying the food, company and tv, the bed was very tempting. It got a bit late. ;-) On Sunday we relaxed in the morning, had a good breakfast and then went for a walk with the doggies to the sea. After that we had lunch, and then it was time to go to the airport again. I'm not particularly fond of flying, but it is very convenient. This time I flew with a company I haven't tried before, and those airplanes were veeeery small. Next time, I think I will choose the one I normally use. The trip home went fine, but I wasn't sure if the pilot was quite up to the task.... First he said it was great weather to fly in. Have NEVER been on a more bumpy ride! Then he said the weather in Oslo were the same as in Gothenburg (sunny and warm). Guess what met me in Oslo - snow and wind! (and it takes about 45 minutes to fly so it couldn't have changed that much!) And when we approached Oslo, the plane was tipping quite hard from side to side. I was wondering if he was "waving" to someone on the ground! I was happy when the landing was good, and I could go in and get my luggage. :-) I went to the garage to get my car, and then the automat swallowed the money but didn't register the payment, so I had to wait for someone to come and help me. I finally got to my car, and 45 minutes later I could hug my husband and "children" again. Going away for a weekend is very nice, but it is really good to come back home again!

Pictures can be seen in the Mixgallery.

March 12th:

Our dogues are having fun on our walks in the forest. Up hills, down hills, under trees, over trees - high grass and some snow and ice..... Actually, a lot of the ice has gone the last couple of days which of course is great! It's been raining a lot too, and as the ice and snow disappears.....the mud appears... it's always something. ;-)) I hope we get a couple of days with sunshine, so it can dry up a bit.

The dogues are doing fine, and we still have a couple of girls in heat. Still waiting for the last two, and I hope they get in heat soon, so we can get a few months free. :-)

Lucky me are going to Gothenburg this weekend. :-) I am SO looking forward to it, and on Saturday I will go with Elisabeth to the International show in Malmø. The battery for the camera is fully charged, now I just have to remember the memorycard. ;-)
I'm flying this time, and it only takes 55 minutes. Really looking forward to meeting my friends again. I hope to get a lot of nice pics from the show, so check back next week to see if there are any updates in the gallery.

Thank's for stopping by. :-)

March 4th

Just a small update on Effi. I've just come from the vet's office, and unfortunately she does not seem to be pregnant. The vet said it might be one or two hiding in there, but it was very doubtful as her uterus is very small. Too bad, and it was sad calling the puppybuyers who had been looking forward to this. We hope they will have something to look forward to next time.

Other than that, not much has happened since yesterday. ;-) The sun is shining and this afternoon we are going for a walk with the doggies. I hope to have some new pictures soon too.

March 3rd:

Spring is here!...Well at least it is the first Spring-month. :-) We've had a nice weekend, even if it was bad weather on Saturday and we woke up to snow on Sunday! After a while the weather got better, and we took some of the doggies for a walk. On Sunday we went in the woods with all of them. Of course they enjoyed it very much, and we didn't see much of them afterwords. We did hear them though - loud snoring everywhere. :-) Espen and I got tired also, and it was nice to sit and relax afterwards.

We didn't go to a restaurant on Saturday, but ended up having lunch at my favourite pizza place instead. We went to a huge shoppingmall across town, and after spending a few hours there, it felt good to sit down and grab a bite.

Today I have to enter the dogues to the Worldwinner show. I'm usually not this late, but I've just had a lot to do lately. But today will be soon enough. :-) The dogues are already in the Swedish Kennelclubs database, so it's easy to enter oline. We've began walking in the woods with the dogues, and hopefully the youngest ones will develope a bit more muscles by summer. I don't think it will be a problem, as we are walking in very demanding terrain. I could tell this morning it has been a while since I went for walks like that....I felt a couple of muscles I forgot that I had. ;-)

We are getting great weather today. It's 0730 when I write this, and the sun is up already. I think I will go for a little walk with my doggies, and maybe get some new pics as well. I should updated each dogs gallery, but every time the pictures ends up in mixgallery. :-)

That's all for now - a new week lies ahead of us, and hopefully lots of good times with your doggies. Have a great week. :-)

February 29th:

After rain comes sunshine......:-)).......or how was that saying again. ;-) We've had some rain, some fog and finally the sun appeared again. A lot of ice has melted in the forest, but there's still a lot left on the roads so we have to walk in the thickest part of the forest. I went for a small walk the other day, and it was so nice to feel the solid ground under my feet again. There is still some rotten snow here and there, but with a few more days with this weather, it will all be gone. We hope to show our dogues in top condition at the Worldwinner show, and walking in the heavy terrain is very good for building balance and muscles. And as a bonus, we get in a bit better shape ourselves also. ;-)
I went for a small walk yesterday also at a different place than I normally go. Not a good idea, it was ALL ice so I decided to drive home and try to drive further in "our" own forest. But the roads were all ice there to so I decided to drive home again - and almost ended up in the ditch.....I have a big and heavy car, and it got no grip downhills and I came closer and closer to the ditch. I finally got it straight and came down safe and sound, but boy did my heart pump hard there for a while.....:-)

This weekend we will relax, go for walks with the doggies, maybe take a small trip to Sweden and make time for each other. It takes a lot of time to run your own company, and I don't always see my husband that much, so on Saturday we are going to a nice restaurant. We get a chance to do that every now and then, and we always have a good time. And we'll probably have a mini-holiday at the WW show in July, and of course there is always France. :-)) We've been longing to go there since we left.....there is something very special with France. :-)

And I'm dying to go to my friends in Gothenburg in a couple of weeks. There is an international show in Malmø, about two hours from them, and my friend Elisabeth is showing her dogs there. It would be really nice to be there with her. It won't be that many chances for me to go away for a weekend in a few months, so I hope I can go. It depends whether or not my husband has to work. There are 25 dogues entered, not bad for a Scandinavian country, and I think there are a couple of dogues going after their last CAC to become Champion, and that makes it even more interesting to watch the show.

Two of my girls are in heat - this time it is Hazel and Netta and thankfully they decided to get in heat at the same time. We've already had three rounds here - one starting when the other just finished....;-) It's only four months since Hazel and Netta were in heat last time, and I guess it is the good weather that affects them. Also Effi and Frida got in heat earlier than expected this time.

It's also time to get the dogues entered for the WW show this weekend. Lowest fee- entry is Monday, after that it is much more expensive. They sure do know how to charge! At least I hope we get something for entering, like when it was held in Amsterdam. Unfortunately I didn't know we got a gift, so I didn't get mine.....;-) I am going to enter the breedclass also, and it will be a first for me. Very exciting. I know there will be a lot of competition, but that's just fun.

That's all for now. Thank's for stopping by and have a great weekend.

February 24th:

It's a long time since Christmas! I still see trees decorated with lights.......someone has a hard time letting go. ;-) It is time to pack all the stuff away! :-)

We've had wonderful weather the last couple of days. Like Easter/Spring. It's nice and warm in the sunshine, and the sun has melted away a lot of ice. A few days ago we could hardly walk outside, not even in the fields as there were so much ice. So the dogues was just outside to do their business, and then straight back in again. Not a lot of fun, but thankfully we don't have dogues that are hyper and feel the need to do something all the time, so they go to sleep in stead. :-)
We're really looking forward to walking in the woods again. It's still a lot of ice, but it's getting better every day. If we get this same kind of weather for a few more days, it will be much, much better. Of course the backside of the ice melting, is that it gets very muddy, and we have to do a lot of cleaning and drying with towels. But that's just the way it is. :-)

The dogues are doing fine, but it seems like we have a female in heat constantly. Would be fine if they could coordinate a little...;-) It's not too bad for me, but I feel a bit sorry for Damien sometimes. Luckily he is not a hysterical male and have to be with the female all the time, but when they are in high heat he doesn't have much else on his mind. Luckily he has never suffered from loosing a lot of weight, he knows how important it is to eat his dinner...;-))).

Soon I'll take the bloodtest on Donatella. Hopefully it's fine and then she's ready to go abroad. The plan is to bring her to at least France this year, and then we'll decide if we bring her somewhere else. We are also going abroad with a couple of other douges later this year. :-)

That's all for now. Hope you all had a great weekend. :-)

February 13th:

The weekend went fast, and so has the week so far. :-) Soon it's weekend again. Then I'm going to a small exhibition about 40 min from where I live. I think it will be a nice show as there is only one club arranging, spreading the groups out over two days. Before, it has been two clubs arranging each day, and they just packed the hall. I think it is very dangerous with over 1200 dogs in such a small hall, what if there is a fire or something? This time, it will be about half as many dogs, and that is much better for the dogs too.

We were supposed to attend the International show in Odense, Denmark this coming weekend, but Effi got in heat sooner than expected, so Espen has been in Holland with her. :-) All we have to do now, is cross our fingers and wait.

Enjoy the rest of the week, and thank's for stopping by. :-)

February 9th:

I found time for a small weekend-update. :-) We've had beautiful weather today, it really felt like Spring. Wonderful....I hope we get more days like this. If tomorrow is good, I hope to get a lot of shots of the dogues so I can update the galleries.

Today, Espen and I went to Sweden for some shopping. I wanted to buy more madrasses for the doggies, but they were sold out. They had some thick blankets I bought instead, so now everyone is laying comfortable. :-)

Today I measured the youngest girls as it's been a while since the last time. We already knew Modesty wouldn't be a small girl, but with circumferance of the head at 61 cm and the chest 63 cm (12 months old), we were a bit......surprised. :-) She's not too tall, about 62 cm, so when she's done I expect here to be wide and low to the ground. Looking forward to see here when she's fully grown. :-) I also measured Donatella, and her head was 56cm and chest 80 cm (8 months old). They are both well proportioned and I think the end results will be very good.

I am really looking forward to the next time we can go to a show. I don't have many future plans, but we will attend a few shows. At first I will concentrate on showing Modesty, as Donatella is growing nice and even but are starting to get a bit loose in the body. In time she'll be fine, and they should both be ready for the World-Winner show. I'm so excited about that.

That's all for now - just a little every-day chat. Have a great weekend and enjoy the time with your dogues. :-)

February 7th:

Birthday update from Modesty:

Hi everyone. On January 24th I turned 1 year. Having birthday is great fun. For breakfast I got lot's of treats with my food, and we had cream-party and got pigsears, and throughout the day we even got more treats! I must have been such a nice girl on my birthday, as I didn't get yelled at once! I wish I had birthday every day.....But mummy says I do all kinds of things I'm not supposed too. Don't know what she's talking about, it's been a looong time since I stole food from the kitchen table. But I don't think she sees the fun in tug-of-war with her towels. She's always been a bit special, so I'm sure she's just being difficult. I just shut my ears and pretend I don't hear her. Oh well, it's not always easy being me. But if she yells at me for tearing up a towel or taking the woodlogs (I'm just helping her making small pieces so it's easier to light the fire but she doesn't get that), then I just look at her with biiiiiig eyes - innocent looking of course - and tell her it was probably Donatella this time too.....But of course she doesn't believe me, 'cause she's got eyes in the neck. Even if she tells me off every so often, I really do love my mummy. She calls me cutie and of course I have to agree with that. I really had a great birthday with lots of treats, and I hope my siblings had the same. Thank you for all your birthday-greetings.

So...back to everydaylife. ;-)
It's been a while since my last update, things are going as usual and everything is fine. We have had a LOT of snow lately - all the snow I wanted for Christmas.:-) The dogues are having a blast, and are running around like crazy on the field. They think it is so fun when I'm out there with them throwing snowballs. They don't need expensive toys. :-)))
Today it's been raining most of the afternoon and evening, but so far we still have quite a lot of snow left. But I think with one more rainy day, most of it will be gone. I hope it stays a bit cold. Of course Spring is very tempting, and our friends in Skåne, Sweden have had +10 degrees for a while now. Espen and I have been talking about living somewhere warm in the wintermonths, and it is especially the French Riviera that sound most tempting. :-)))

That's all for now, have a great day. Soon the weekend will be here. :-)

January 21st:

This weekend it was a national show in Sandefjord. My sister entered her ownbred "Gregorius Black and Beautiful" - Cola - and got the last CAC that made her Norwegian Champion! Big congratulations. :-) See her here: Kennel Gregorius .

Now it's cold again - actually it's snowing. The weather is very much up and down, some days wet and other days cold and dry. I'm actually longing for Spring.....it is such a beautiful time of the year. And we're hoping for Spring/Summer puppies so we have a lot to look forward to.

As many of your have probably already seen, I've updated with some pics in the mixgallery the other day. Modesty is getting better and better as time goes by, and her body is getting more harmonic. I'm in no rush, and I gladly wait for her to get ready for the showring. The weight stopped at 55 kg last time. It may sound a lot, but considering the huge bonemass she has, it's a good weight for her size. I'll guess her at 62cm at the withers, a bit longer in the body than her mother, but much heavier bonemass. She also have really big ears, so I hope she grows in to them. :-) She has long, powerful steps, and moves very easy. I've found a handler for her to show her at the WW show, and they are a great team. It was very nice watching them practise. I will show Hazel and Donatella, and we're still deciding if we should bring one more. But it's still plenty of time to decide that.

Yesterday we took a trip to Sweden. It's only one hour from where we live. After shopping some food, we went to a store that sells all different kinds of things, including beds for the dogues. I used to have the big bia-beds before, but "someone" thought it was fun to chew on it, and suddenly there were big holes in them, and we had to throw them away. On my visit to Hjärtekulla Kennel, I saw she had those neet beds for the dogs. Very comfortable to sleep on, and you can take the fabric off and wash it in the washingmachine. Very practical. It is amazing how much "fun" they can have if they are bored - especially Modesty and Donatella, but also Alisea has a tendensy to rip stuff apart. But what goes around comes around........and Modesty learnt that the hard way the time she stole one kilo frozen shrimps...(Espen's food by the way, and he was not amused).....Espen called the vet, and she said it shouldn't be a problem for her body to take care of it, and 5 minutes later it all came back up again.... I think she learnt from that, 'cause the other day I tried to give her a shrimp and she just sniffed at it but wouldn't eat it. ;-) So I don't think she'll steal more shrips. But she is really crazy about food. Almost anything goes down, and if she has the chance, she will eat the other dogues food as well. She's got a tendency to gain weight so I have to watch her a bit. :-))

That's all for now.....have a great week and enjoy your doggies.

January 9th:

Another week has passed, and the weekend was filled with excitement and social events. I left Thursday morning to Gothenburg, and made a small stop in Strømstad to visit Kennel Mastiffåsen. It was a nice visit and we got some time to chat and cuddle witht he doggies. Thank's for having me. :-)
When I arrived at my friends Elisabeth and Jussi's house, we walked the doggies and then sat down to enjoy a lovely dinner.
The following day, Elisabeth was showing two of her females - Dagny and Barbro. They are both in open class, so Elisabeth asked if I would show Dagny as I wasn't showing Effi until the next day, and of course I did that. Dagny is a great mover and she's very easy to handle. She ended as 3rd best female with CK and Barbro got the CAC, R-CACIB and became 2nd best female. I also handled Diaz, a two year old male, as his owner Hanna got real sick on the day and had a high fever. I'm just impressed she attended at all. Unfortunately, Diaz didn't think it was that fun having me as a handler, so he wouldn't stand still or show his teeth. Too bad, as I think he would have won, but I have no doubts that Hanna and Diaz will obtain the last CAC to make him champion. :-)

After the show, we went for a long walk with the dogues. Then we ate dinner but called it an early night as the Swedish Winnershow was the day after. I got up early to get a good parkingspot. More and more doguepeople arrived, and it was nice to meet them all. Also our puppybuyers that bought Eric came to watch the show. As always, so nice to speak with them.

Eventually it was time for champion class females, and Effi won her class. Then it was best female competition, and she ended as 2nd best with R-Cacib. Swedish Winners 2008 is BOB Eross vd Paterhoek and BOS Belbugo's Noisette. Once again we congratulate the proud owners and breeders. :-)

After the show we went home to Elisabeth again, and had an even longer walk with the doggies than the day before. We got company of Elisabeth's friend Lena, and after the walk we went to the store to buy something to eat. Of course we had to celebrate Barbro's CAC from the day before, and we had an lovely evening with good food, good wine and lots of laughs. :-) Effi slept until the next day, so I think she was satisfied with all the excitement.

The next morning, Elisabeth and I had a nice breakfast, and then it was time to go home. I want to thank my friends for having me, and taking such good care of me. :-)

It was nice to be home again, and to see all my doggies, and my husband went to buy pizza, and I stayed on the sofa for the rest of the evening. :-)

January 2nd 2008

Happy New Year. :-) Hope you've had a good celebration, and that your dogues wasn't scared of the fireworks. Luckily, we had no problems here. A bit more fireworks than usual, but the doggies don't care about it. I was a bit curious to see how Donatella and Modesty would react, but they wasn't bothered at all. Around midnight, we gave the doggies a pigsear, and then they were busy for a little while. :-)
We had a nice and quiet evening with good food.

This coming weekend it is the Swedish Winnershow, and I'm really looking forward to it. It's an 4 1/2 hours drive, but since I am bringing a dog, it will probably take a little longer as I make at least one stop on the way. I'm really looking forward to spending some days in my swedish friends company. :-)

We've finally got some snow....it's so typical, and I said it a while ago that I was sure we would get all the snow in the new year, and get stuck with it until late April. But the dogues have fun, and it makes it much more light and inviting to be outside, even if we so far only have a couple of cm snow.

It's nice to be back in everyday-routines again. Although this morning was not routine.....as I woke up a little after 0500. I tried to sleep a bit more, but no way, so I just got up and got efficient instead. A little after 0800, the floors were cleaned, and the second round of laundry was in the machine. As soon as the stores open, I'll go and do some shopping. The lady who massage our dogues will be here a bit later on today, and the dogs goes crazy everytime they see her. :-) It is of course too much to massage 8 dogues the same day, but she usually manage 4 or 5. We are very happy with her, and even if the dogues are fit and in shape, everyone does good with a little massage - just try it yourself and see. :-)

Have a nice week. I hope to present some pictures from the Swedish Winnershow after the weekend.

2007

December 31st:

I wanted to write a few words on this last day of 2007. Another year has passed, and I am still amazed to see how fast time goes by.
It's been a good year for us. We've had puppies, and by that new familymembers that we enjoy every day. We are happy and thankful for having the Dogues in our lives. On this day, everyone is fit and healthy. We've walked them early today, actually I was out of bed already 0630.. (thank you Donatella....).
In a couple of hours we'll be going to Oslo to do some shopping - the lobster is ordered and the champagne is in the fridge. We will have a quiet evening with our dogues. There's not much fireworks where we live, and normally the dogues doesn't react on it, but we wouldn't have left them on a day like this anyways.

We've made new friendships, and we've met a lot of nice people. We've enjoyed the company of our old friends.
We've only attended a couple of shows this year, which gave Hazel two more titles, and our breeding has gained one title.

A new litter is planned in the Spring. We only make a litter if we want a puppy for ourselves, this is pure hobby and hope to bring out something we wish for. We are very happy with Effi's lines, not only the exterior, but also the mentality, and we are very happy with Hazel and therefore wanted to combine the two lines by using Hazel's daddy, Toezzz. We are so happy that Michel and Sandra would give us this opportunity. Thank you. :-)

This weekend it was a small all-breed national exhibition not fra away from where I live. I went to have a look, and especially the puppies is so fun to watch. They jump and bite and run everywhere except where they are supposed to. :-)))

Next weekend it's a show again, but this time Swedish Winner in Gothenburg. Takes me about 4 1/2 hours to get there, and I will be staying at my friends Elisabeth and Jussi's house. They are wonderful, honest people, and it's always a joy to be in their company.

Finally, what's left is to wish our puppybuyers, friends and visitors a Happy New Year! See you in 2008. :-)

December 17th:

Another weekend has passed, and this time we went to Nordic Winner in Stockholm. I am just so happy and proud as it went very well for us. I've been thinking back and forth if I should bring Hazel or not as she haven't had fun the last couple of times, but since she's been in a great mood the last week I decided to give it a go. I brought a tennisball as she's totally nuts about them, and I played a little with her before we went in to the ring. But I'm a bit ahead of myself now, first of all it was the Junior-males turn to enter the ring. Amongst them were Masque Marron's Masquerade - Valther - so I was soooo nervous while I was waiting for the judge to decide. It went great, and Valther won his class, got an honourprize and therefore ended as Nordic Junior Winner 2007. :-) I am very proud, and congratulations once again.
After a while it was time for Open class males, where I showed a 2 year old for some friends of mine. This was his first show, and he wasn't too happy about it, but still he showed himself and ran nicely around with me. He didn't go further in the competition, but I think his owners are very interested in continuing showing. :-)

I also showed Freja (Material Girl) in juniorclass. This was her first time in the ring, and I think she did a good job. She worked with me and stood nicely in front of the judge. She didn't go any further in the competition, but there will be many more shows for her in the future. :-)

Finally it was time for female championclass to enter the ring. So far, no female had been given a CK and I was very excited as Hazel was defending her title from last year. I was so happy when the judge finally pointed at us, and placed Hazel as number one, giving her CK & CACIB which gave her the title Nordic Winner 2007! :-))) Unfortunately I don't have any pictures, as I forgot the memorycard (but hey, I remembered the camera this time ;-) ), and discovered when I came back home that I had a reserve in my bag.....:-( So typical of me, but I think I either have to show dogs or take pictures, I get too stressed to do both at once...

I've made updates on many pages today - there are news in mixgallery, a-litter, m-litter and our dogues. Not new pics of all, but most of them.

Enjoy the days before Christmas

December 10th:

This weekend, my mother and I went on our annual trip to Copenhagen. We had a great trip, and the weather was nice too. We had sunshine a few hours during the day, and it felt great as it's always very windy in Denmark. On the way down, we enjoyed a good meal and called it an early night so we would be well rested for the next day. After a light breakfast, we took a taxi downtown. They have shuttle-busses going from the boat to the city-center, but we couldn't be bothered standing in that looooong line. We went inside the first shoppingmall we got to. They have a store that is all about Christmas, and we had to take a look there. Afterwards we walked around looking at all the nice stuff we could buy. Of course I found a garment I just HAD to have. :-) We ended up at Tivoli, but before we went in, we sat down to have some lunch - a Danish Smørrebrød. All that walking is exhausting, so a little rest now and then is necessary.

We went inside the Tivoli, and it was beautiful with all the lights and Christmas-decorations. We ate lot's of good cakes and snacks, and had a great time. We didn't take any of the rides, but it was fun to watch other people. :-)

Afterwards we had to do some shopping in the store, things we just HAVE to have for Christmas. Then we took a taxi back to the boat. Our cabin was nice and big, with our very own jacuzzi on deck. ;-) Of course we couldnt' use it this time a year, but it was nice with the big patio outside so we could see a little of the surroundings. We were supposed to have a Commodere cabin both ways, but the day before our trip they called us from the shipping company and told us there had been waterdamage in our cabin, so instead they would offer us a standard cabin on the way down, but an Owners Suite on the way back AND our money back. I think that was a great compensation.

In the evening it was time for yet another lovely dinner, and then we had to check out the tax-free shop. We always find something tempting there, and our suitcases was filled up this time also - even so within the limit of what we are allowed to bring in to Norway. :-) The morning after we had breakfast whilst sailing in the last bit to Oslo harbour.

For those of you who would like to see some pictures from the trip to the Tivoli, take a look at mixgallery. :-)

November 26th:

Norwegian Winner show was held Sunday at Hamar. I have been so nervous and excited for several days now. Yesterday morning I was so nervous I wasn't sure I would be able to go...;-) But I didn't have to be nervous, it went very well and Hazel got home with another CACIB and a new title - Norwegian Winner 2007. :-) The judge was breedspecialist Peter Montfoort. He is my absolute favourite judge, as I think he has great personality, genuine interest in the breed and goes through the whole dog. He said he was very much in doubt whether to put up Hazel or the male as BOB, because Hazel is a more athletic type with great movements, but the male had a stronger headtype so he put him up.
He also said that we here in Norway have to watch the heads, as there were some dogs with heads that wasn't quite up to standard. He was very particular that the dogs had correct stop, chin, eyebrows, and that all was in proportion. He also said that both winner-dogs had correct headtype, so I am more than happy. :-) I am also very proud of my friend Mona who has Adora from my first litter. They have been training hard for the ring, and it was easy to see that it paid off. They got 2 place in their class with honorprize. Montfoort said that Adora had a beautiful head, and that in one and a half years she would be very nice. So biiiiiiig congratulations Mona. :-))

We had a very nice day around the ring. Most people were in a good mood, talking and laughing. For once, my husband joined me, and it was so nice to have someone to go with. He drove both ways, thankfully, because I was dead tired when I got home and stayed on the sofa the rest of the day while my husband went for walks with the doggies.... :-)

I am really not sure if I will bring Hazel to Stockholm. She did NOT have fun at all yesterday, and couldn't get out of there fast enough. I really had to work with her. I will think it through, it's still a couple of weeks ahead, and it will be the years last show. Next year she's only going to the WW....but we'll see.

Unfortunately I don't have any pics from the show as I forgot my camera (yes, big shocker I know....), but luckily Irene and Ekhart have taken some that they will send me as soon as they get them transfered to the computer. Maybe there is a good shot of us there also. ;-) Not everyone is good at taking pictures, but Ekhart is getting the hang of it.

I'm also gonna try to take more pics here at home, but I will be a bit busy throughout the week.....I've purchased all three seasons of Desperate Housewifes, so I'm not sure what else I'll find time for... ;-))

Ellers prøver jeg å få tatt litt bilder her etter hvert også, men jeg blir litt opptatt utover i uken.........jeg har nemlig kjøpt alle tre sesonger med Desperate Housewives, så da er det ikke så mye annet man får tid til... ;-)

That's all for now......have a great week.

November 23rd:

On Sunday it is Norwegian Winner at Hamar. It's so typical we're getting snow. Yesterday it started to rain, and last night it froze again, so it's a bit dangerous walking outside. Glad we have the big fields so the doggies can get some exercise. I hope we get a bit more snow, so it settles properly, that's better than ice.

Effi is still limping a bit, and I don't think she will be ready for Sunday. I massage her a little every day, but it doesn't seem to get well fast enough. Too bad, because I would like to get a critique on her from that judge. But it's nothing we can do but wait and see.

Christmas is getting closer....:-)))) I just love Christmas, I think it's so nice with all the decorations and lights. My mother and I are going on our annual trip to Copenhagen in a few weeks time, and I can hardly wait. Maybe next week I'll start with a few decorations. Actually I was going to paint the living- and diningroom, but I think we'll wait until spring/summer when the paint will dry faster. It will be cozy anyways. :-) I've already made a few Christmas-dinners - it's too good and I can't just eat it once a year....;-)

Earlier this week, I was out having dinner with a couple of girls I used to work with. There were lots of people, and luckily we had booked a table even if we had dinner at 1700..... The food was good, but the place was a bit too loud for me. I'm used to the tranquility living very rural. :-) But every now and then I want to have all the noise and excitement around me, so then I take a trip to the city. But I can't get back home fast enough...;-))

The dogs are doing great, except for Effi who's still limping a bit. I was hoping I could get some more pictures of them this week, but I haven't really had the time for it. Perhaps tomorrow, if the weather is good, preferably with a little snow in the background. It's so beautiful against the color of the dogues coat.

That's all for now - we'll see if I'm up to making a small report from the show on Sunday. Have a great weekend, and thank's for dropping by our site. :-))

November 15th

Another week has passed. We still don't have any snow, but it's nice and cold. I don't need snow, just as long as it stays cold so I don't have to mop the floors every day. :-)
The dogues are doing fine. Effi is still limping a bit, but I hope it will be fine by next weekend when we have the Norwegian Winnershow in Hamar. Thankfully it's a week left, so I'm hoping for the best. We had 18 entries this year. Not bad, even if it's not as many as I expected. I'm really looking forward to it, even if I'm not staying the whole weekend this year. My friend Mona that I usually go with, couldn't make it this year, but hopefully we are on again next year. :-) I think we will be driving two cars, as I would like to stay after we've been in the ring to watch other breeds as well. There is something special with the atmosphere at the Vikingship.

Like I said, the dogues are doing fine. Donatella have had fun in the mud.....as you can see in the picture below. I took it last week, after we've had some mild weather. Of course it get's very dirty inside when it's like that, and the little missy had to take a bath in the tub......She didn't go quietly, but I won in the end. :-) After a little while she was squeaky clean - while it lasted. Her reward after the bath was a pigsear, and of course she didn't say no to that. :-)

Miss piggy........

Other than that, nothing much is happening - anywhere. Seems to be a dry-out everywhere. Hardly anyone update their sites. A bit boring, but maybe they don't have anything new to show. I think it is nice to take pictures of my dogues and present them on my site - and that's why I really appreciate it when people from the other side of the world e-mails me to tell me how much the like my pictures and my diary. Usually I think there is only a handful people visiting my site, but thank's to site statistics, I can see that the visitors are many and from a lot of Coutries. Thank you so much for stopping by our site. :-)

I'm walking around with big butterflies in my tummy.......because I'm looking forward to the show in Hamar....:-) I hope I never get tired of it - if so I will have to find another hobby. And speaking of hobby, I've been thinking about taking a class with doggie-massage. Nothing professional, just so I can give it to my dogues when they need it. We walk our doggies in the woods and of course think we have happy and healthy dogues. So we do, but when they walk in the very challenging terrain, it's easy to stretch a muscle or get a muscleknot or something. We discovered that when we had a person visiting who knows massage. It was fun to see how the dogues reacted to the treatment, and they really enjoyed it. But it was also easy to see when they had a sore spot. I think we will continue having a professional massaging the dogues once a week or so, but it's nice to know how to do it myself.

Today I've taken some pictures of the doggies in the field. You find them in mixgallery. Have a nice weekend - tomorrow it's Friday. :-))

November 5th:

This weekend my mother and I went to Denmark to attend the show in Herning. We have had the best time ever! We took the boat from Oslo to Frederikshavn on Friday evening. We were supposed to show Effi, but she and Alisea had a little dispute last week, which resulted in Alisea piercing Effi's leg. She limped a lot, and even if I hoped it would be fine within one week, she was still limping, so there was no point in bringing here. But we decided to go anyways, we had been looking forward to this trip for ages. When we arrived in Frederikshavn Saturday morning, we met up with Irene and Ekhart from Noble Saint kennel. We drove to Marie-Louise and Dan at Kennel Queensville and had a cop of coffee before we went to Aalborg to shop around a little. It was lots of Christmas-stuff to buy, so I had to find a little something-something to bring home. :-) Then we went back home to Marie-Louise and Dan and was served the best lunch I've had in a very long time. Martin who has Manolito from us, joined us for lunch also. It was very nice. We sat down for about 2 hours before we drove to the hotel. It took us about two and a half hours to get there, and since Irene and Ekhart was staying in another hotel, we decided to meet up in a couple of hours to eat dinner. ;-) It's amazing how much food one can eat on these trips. :-)) We had Chinese, and after dinner we walked back to the hotel. After a good nights sleep it was time to get up and go to the exhibition. I think I was almost as excitied at Irene. For me, Jaxx is a stunning male, and I hoped it would go their way. So it did, and he has a whole lot of championtitles now. :-) Take a look at Noble Saint's kennel, there will probably be an updated in a day or two...:-) Congratulations again!! Marie-Louise & Dan's Lola got 2nd best female with R-CACIB, Enchi nr two in her class with CK and Minx nr 4 in her class. She got a nice critique, but he wanted bigger head on her. I'm sure it will be there in time, she's only 9 months old. :-) Congratulations on your great results.

After the show, my mother and I went to get something to eat before we drove back to Frederikshavn to take the ferry to Gothenburg. We had the express which takes about 2 hours. We drove almost non-stop back to Norway, with just two smalls tops to stretch the legs a bit. I was home just before midnight.

We've had a wonderful trip, and thank you once again Marie-Louise and Dan for taking such good care of us. Thank's to Martin for stopping by and bringing Manolito so I could see him again, and that you and Laura came to the show to say hello. :-)

I got to meet a couple of girls I've only written with online, and that was very nice. :-)

Thank you for a gret trip - mummy, Iren and Ekhart. :-)

And to my poor husband, sick and lonely with help from Damien, taking care of my girls who are angels and never do anything wrong - especially Modesty...... ;-) Thank you sooooo much!

Pics can be found under Mix-gallery.

October 19th.

It's Friday again......and another week has went by really fast. We've had a lot to do, but now it's starting to calm down. I've been looking many times after how many dogs are entered in Herning, and yesterday they published it on the site - 31 entered. Not as many as I expected but still a good number. I am really looking forward to this trip, it will be so nice to meet our Danish friends again. My mother and I are invited on brunch on the way down, and we are really looking forward to that. What would life be without exhibitions....:-))

Fall is here, and we can hear that so are the mice.....they scratch in the walls and takes the occational trip to our bathroom every now and then. Espen saw one the other day running downstairs in to the bathroom and then it was gone. But yesterday, I thought I saw something but when I went to look for it, it was gone. But then in the evening, Modesty saw it again, so then we went mouse-hunting. They are so small and fast, and it got away several times, but then Netta got it.....it was dead immediately. She got a lot of praise, but no kisses...;-) She left it on the floor for me to pick it up and get rid of it. She was very efficiant. I'm sure there's about 40 mice left...gotta buy new traps as the old ones are too big.

There hasn't been more snow since last week, and we've had some really beautiful days. It's looking promising today also, and I just love Fall when it's like this. It's been a bit cold and windy, and frost some nights.

After I started training Donatella without treats it's going much better. I also train Modesty, but she's a rascal these days and just want to jump around and bite the leash. Brat...! But she's so cute, and I know it's just a phase. She has a lot of speed and has long legs and a lot of body to keep in place, so I'm sure it looks pretty funny when we run. :-))) Yesterday, all the dogues wanted to practise ringtraining, so I ran a couple of laps with them on the lawn. They had fun, and even Damien showed that he hasn't forgotten how to be a showdog.;-) All doggies are back to normal after the kennel cough and they are having fun. Either running like crazy in the yard, or cuddling on the sofa.......:-) They are very active, but would like a few hours on the sofa just to relax a little.

That's all for now. Hope to have some new pics during the weekend.

October 11th:

Fall is here.....sometimes so beautiful and sparkling with sunshine, and other times grey and boring. Even so it is very nice to cuddle up on the sofa with a nice, warm blanket and something nice to chew on.;-)
And as I'm writing this, it actually starts to snow! Well actually it's more like frosted rain, but it's still white what's coming down. The forecast shows signs of snow soon, so it won't be long before the doggies can play in the snow again.

We're doing some Fall-cleaning. It's incredible how much stuff one has laying around and never uses...We've lived here for two years now, and it's the second time we have a container here. We've thrown lots of old stuff, so now we have plenty of space in the barn.....ready to be filled up again. ;-)

The moose-hunt is in it's first week, but we haven't heard many shots so far, so maybe the hunters are out of luck. We've walked the doggies a couple of times in the woods, but made sure we stayed on the wide paths. We've found a great round to walk the doggies, which takes about one hour. Very "in-the-woods" feeling but still on a nice and wide path with possibilites for the doggies to have a drink of water along the way.

Life is going as usual here and the doggies are all doing fine. Little Donatella is not so little anymore, and she's now 23 kg at 19 weeks of age. She's nice and slim and in good shape. Almost changed all her little teeth. Is completely obsessed with food, and would possibly eat the whole day if I allowed her to. I've been training her a bit for the ring, and I've used treats, but I had to give them up as she's overfocussed on the treats and turns her body too much towards me, which of course ruins the topline and her movements. She defenitely has mummy Hazel's movements, and it's a joy to see her move. As with Hazel, trotting is her natural way to move, and I hardly ever see her walk. So far she's looking very promising and if she continues developing like I think she will, I am more than happy. And with daddy Jaxx's great chest and width in the head, it's gonna turn out just fine.

Modesty is a whole capture by herself....;-) She's such a rascal and she will chew on dvd's, magazines, books, paper, almost any kind of food and on the table.....She tests me really hard these days, but she's so damn cute it's hard to be mad at her for a long time. She jumps up on the kitchen bench to see if she finds anything to eat, and unfortunately, Donatella is learning her behaviour.... I weighed Modesty three weeks ago and then she was 49 kg, so I guess she's somewhere between 50-52 now. She's not growing in the height at the moment, so if she stays almost like this she will turn out fine. She has a massive bonemass so I keep her slim so she doesn't get too heavy. She's very feminine and it's no doubt she's a girl. She looks a lot like mummy Effi, but seem to have a better head and a better behind/movements. But she's not gonna be developed until at least 3 years age, there is a lot that needs to come together. I still haven't decided if she's going to Stockholm in December, but it's still time to decide about that.

It's also time to pay the entries for the Norwegian Winnershow in Hamar. I think we'll bring two dogues this year also, but we'll see. I'm looking forward to it already and I hope we get a ring on the side of the hall. It's usually very crowded in the middle. I've already booked a hotelroom, and are looking forward to the annual trip with my friend Mona. :-)) But before we get that far, we still have the show in Herning, Denmark. I expect there to be a lot of entries as the judge is Bas Bosch and I'm really looking forward to it. It's gonna be fun to see our good danish friends again.

That's all for now.....enjoy the Fall, the Winter will be here soon.;-)

October 3rd:

Today I can celebrate my 8th year as a non-smoker.:-))))) I am so proud of myself that I managed to quit. I haven't even taken one little inhalation, even if it has been close a couple of times.

Nothing much happening, but yesterday, Espen had his birthday. He had to work, so we didn't get to celebrate it. Happy Birthday darling.;-) Next year....it's gonna be a biiiiig party. :-)))

This weekend it is time for an exhibition again. It is only 30 minutes from where I live. I haven't entered any of my dogues, but it's possible I will show for someone else. It's not going to be a lot of shows for me ahead, but I will attend the show in Herning next month, and also the Norwegian and Swedish-winner shows. Next year I haven't planned much, maybe a couple of puppy shows for Donatella, but we'll see. It depends on where they hold the shows, as I don't think it's nice when they allow way to much dogs and people in the halls. It is not fun, and especially not fun for the dogs.

We still have kennelcough, but it seems like the worst is over. Those who got it last are still coughing a little, but that's all. Luckily they didn't get fever or anything. Damien and Hazel are still not sick, so I think they got clear of it this time. The only boring thing is that the doggies can't take their walks in the woods, and it's in times like this I am glad we fenced in the 15000 square meters....

I have updated Donatella's gallery and mixgallery, so take a look there. Enjoy the Fall....

September 30th:

It's been almost a month since I last wrote in the diary. Time goes fast, and everyday life is as usual, with the occational trip abroad. France was wonderful as ever, I suppose you've all read the small report under the France-link. We are already looking forard to next year, it is a wonderful exhibition.
Here at home things are as usual, except the dogues unfortunately got the kennelcough. Thankfully they are not getting very sick from it, but as it is highly contagious, I decided not to bring Donatella to the small show I had entered her for today. Actually I'm glad I didn't have to bring her, because the showhall is way to small, and they actually let inn 1200 dogs there! It's insane, and I really hope they find a bigger hall next time, or limit the entries. It was almost impossible to walk there. Anyways, I decided to go and watch the show, as my friend Mona had entered Adora (from my first litter). I was excited to see her as it's been a while, and I think she looks really good. Unfortunately she wouldn't run in the ring. When they practise at home, everything is fine, it is when she gets in the hall she doesn't want to do it. Too bad, as she's a nice youthdogue, but they will continue training and I'm sure in time she will adjust to it.:-) She ended up as second best female with CK and a nice critique.

Below are a few pictures from the show:

Masque Marron's Adora, second best female with CK

Zebrasomas Quality Boy "Ozzy", HP

Zebrasomas Bezariba, cac and BOB

Zebrasomas Angelica - open class with 2 prize

August 28th:

This weekend I went to Holland to watch two big shows there. I left Friday evening and was picked up at the airport by Sandra at Bakerville's. They have been most helpful with finding me a place to live, and they offered to pick me up at the airport also. After an hours drive we were in the village they live, and we had a nice dinner at the pub. The day after we went to Rotterdam to watch and international exhibition. There were about 30 dogues entered, and BOB went to Enferno vd Paterhoek. BOS was Rhodonite Renais. After a little shopping we went home, but Nik and Bart waited for the group finals. It went very well and Enferno won the whole group!

In the evening it was a BBQ-party. It was held indoors in a pub, with an electric bbq and a buffet table so we could choose what we wanted to eat and then bbq it ourselves. Very cozy and social. We were about 25 people attending.

The day after it was time for the Dutch clubmatch. 120 dogs were entered. Once again BOB went to Enferno vd Paterhoek, and best female was Cascob Catatonic (Red Saxon at Biganos x Bugene Flower Girl at Cascob). Emberez Eleanor won her class. After the show, Nik and Bart rushed back to Rotterdam to attend the BIS competition, where he took a fabulous BIS-2! Big congratulations to all involved.

Also big congratulations to our friends Sandra & Michel with Vienna becoming nr 2 in her class, and Blackx winning Best Blackmask! Also congratulations to the Rumblin Red for Caseys win in Champion class and to Red Force for their stunning boy Evil's win in his class. It was very nice meeting you all. :-)

After a long day at the shows it was time to go home again. Michel and Sandra drove me to the airport, and for once by plane was not delayed. ;-). It has been a great weekend, and I've met a lot of nice people. But it was also very nice to come home to my husband and "children" again. Now we'll stay home for a couple of weeks before it's time to go to France.

Thank you Michel and Sandra for your help and hospitality. :-)

There are a few pics under mixgallery. Unfortunately a lot of the pics were dark and blury.

August 15th:

I totally forgot to write about Minx - She got BOB puppy at the Danish show last weekend. Her owners Marie-Louise and Dan are doing a great job with her, and Marie-Louise and Minx were a good team in the ring. The critique were super. You can read it at Queensville's own site. Click here. BIG congratulations!

I also forgot Effi's birthday. She turned three on Friday, but we didn't celebrate much. She's pretty spoiled from before, so I don't think she missed anything, but I usually celebrate with wip cream..:-)

Maybe I will update with a few more pics closer to the weekend, but at the moment it's raining so I have to wait until it clears up a bit. Enjoy the rest of the week.

August 14th:

Boy it's been a busy weekend! It started very early, at 0530 on Friday morning, when Miss Donatella decided it was time to wake up.....I had planned to sleep until 8 since I had a long drive ahead of me, but there was no way I could go back to sleep again. My husband called me at 7 to say that the highway was closed....in my direction..... Great start.....So I finished up at home as soon as possible, and left home about 0815. I was going to pick up my friend Mona along the way, and luckily, by the time I got to the city, the traffic was fine again. We had plenty of time, so we took it nice and quiet. We were going to take the boat from Gothenburg to Frederikshavn, and I had booked place in the dog-lounge so Effi wouldn't have to sit in the car.
We were staying at my Danish friends Marie-Louise and Dan, and Marie-Louise met us at the boat and guieded us rest of the way. After about 30 minutes we were there, and we could finally say hi to Dan and the doggies. It was of course extra fun for me to see Minx, and she is such a sweet girl. After meeting everyone, we got our stuff in the house, and sat down for a nice meal that Marie-Louise and Dan had prepared for us. We went to bed around midnight, and we had two hours to the exhibition so we had to get up early. I woke up at 0230 when some kids used a fire-cracker in front on the house.....how nice.....and of course I couldn't sleep again, so I was pretty tired that day. We were off at 0715 in the morning, and were ready ringside at 1005. My Effi did a great job and showed herself very nicely, but the judge wanted at bit wider head on her, so my friend Marie-Louise won with her Lola! It was very fun for them, and Lola is a beautiful girl. We celebrated with a mini-bottle of champagne, ;-) and decided to wait for the finals. Unfortunately the postponed the finals one and a half hours, and since there were coming more people to Marie-Louise and Dan in the evening, we just had to go home. Martin and Laura that has Manolito from me (Minx's brother) came 30 min after we were home, and it was just sooooo nice to see them. Manolito has really grown - he's anything but small......hughe paws, strong bonemass and a fantastic head!
We enjoyed a nice BBQ with all the trimmings, and had a great time in great company.
The next morning it was off again for the exhibition. Effi was a bit tired, but performed well. She ended as 3 in her class. Lene Lykke's Brenda won it all, and a young male I don't remember the name of got the BOS.
The judgement took a bit longer than I hoped for, so we decided to drive all the way home, as we missed the boat. A few miles outside Gothenburg we got stuck in very heavy traffic - road work - so I called my Swedish friend Elisabeth and asked if it was possible for us to stay the night there. We were more than welcome, and got served a nice meal when we arrived.

I want to say a big thank you to Marie-Louise, Dan, Elisabeth and Jussi for the hospitality. We've had a great time in your company! And thank you Mona for travelling with me - a great time as always.

Pics can be found under mixgallery.

August 9th:

A small summary of summer: Boy it went fast this time too! In the beginning we had some really great days with warm weather and sunshine - before it turned into a typical Norwegian summer. Now we've had some very nice - and hot - days. Might be the rest of the summer before Fall sets in. I hope Fall will be dry and sunny - not much can beat a Fall with sunshine and all the wonderful colors in the nature!

Actually we haven't done much this summer. We've had puppies here - after a lot of drama which luckily ended in a good way - and we've also attended a couple of shows. It's been nice to just kick back and let the days pass by. Now it's getting really dark at night again. But Fall and Winter has it's charme, and I'm looking forward to both.

This summer I got to taste crayfish. I didn't like it the first time I ate it, but at my friends house, they served me grilled crayfish in garlic oil........and boy did I like it! :-) Actually, they sent me home with 4kg of raw crayfish to make for my husband and I, and we actually ate it all......4 kg!......in one meal.......no wonder I felt a bit full afterwards. ;-)

It's been a great summer. I've met up with good friends and have had some nice people over for visits. My puppybuyers are still doing a great job sending me pics of their darlings and we have good contact with each and every one. I think that is very important. And this coming weekend I get to meet some of them, as I'm taking Effi to a two-day exhibition in Denmark. And there will also be a lot of other ddb-owners I already know, and it's gonna be so nice to see them all again.

I am sure there will be pics from my trip, possibly on Monday.

Enjoy what's left of the summer. :-)

July 30th:

I took Modesty to a national show yesterday in Ransäter, Sweden, where she got BOB puppy. She did a good job, stood nicely, and was willing to run in the ring. She thinks it is very fun. She is very loose in the body now, being 6 months there isn't much else to expect, but it is good for her to enter these shows and she really loves to be there. I also showed Adrienne from my first litter, and she won her class. She also did a great job, and it was her first time in the ring. I think she is easy to show, and even if it was all new to her, she did a good job. There were enterede 19 ddb, three puppies didn't show, and two adults in open class didn't show either. The judge did not put up a BOB this time. I think she is a nice judge, and she explained what she felt lacking or was positive in the dog. Personal taste can be very different, and that is fine. Anyways, me and my friend Mona had a great trip as always, and we met up with my puppubuyer Svein ringside. It was very crowded, and we weren't allowed to put up tents closer than 5 meters from the ring. We met a lot of nice ddb-people, and we had a great day. Thank's for joining me again Mona. :-)

On Saturday, the annual meeting at Kennel Doguehill's was held in Åstorp. Espen went with Effi, and they had a great day. Lots of nice people attended, and it was a success as always. Unfortunately I couldn't join them, but hopefully next year. It has become a tradition for us. :-)

Pics from Ransäter and Åstorp can be found under Mix gallery.

July 15th:

It has been such a great weekend. I went to Sweden with my friend Irene where she was attending a double exhibition with her gorgeous Jaxx. We had a great time with my very good friends Elisabeth and Jussi at Kennel Hjärtekulla. You always feel so welcome in their home, and they made delicious food for us, both on Thursday evening and on Friday evening. Elisabeth's friend, Lena, lent us her little guesthouse where we could come and go as we pleased. Thank you so much for the hospitality. :-)

On Friday morning we went to the show, and after getting all the stuff in place, we just relaxed for a couple of hours before it was Irene and Jaxx's turn in the ring. Jaxx got the CAC with made him Swedish Champion, and he also got the Best of Breed.

Next morning we were up early, and this day it was an International show, so we were hoping for the CACIB. He got that too, and after talking a bit more with good friends around the ring, it was time to go home.

I want to thank Irene for letting me tag along, I had such a great time. And also for all our old and new friends that made the weekend really great. It was so nice to meet you all. :-)

My puppybuyer Jenny, with Eric (Maveric) also lives close by the exhibition, and she took the time to come and see us. It was so nice to meet her again, and to see Eric. He has the biggest paws I've ever seen in a puppy at a little over 5 months old.....It filled the palm of my hand. Big boy. And very relaxed and calm at shows. He just sits there and watches the other doggies. Such a sweetie. :-) Thank you for bringing him Jenny. :-)

There are pics from the show in Mixgallery.

July 7th:

We have finally made the choise on which puppy stays here - I think Irene is very happy now. She think's I am a bit slow...;-)) Desiré goes to her father and Donatella stays here with her mother. Both Irene and I are very happy. She gets Jaxx's firstborn puppy ever, and she's been veeeery sure that Desiré would stay with them. :-) I have been thinking back and forth for 5 weeks now, but kept coming back to Donatella. And lucky for us, we both got the puppy we wanted. :-) In three weeks, Desiré goes to Kolbu where Irene lives, and up until then, life is just as usual here.

We finished fencing the big field on Tuesday, and boy were we tired in the evening.... Slept like a rock, and was only up a couple of times to check on the puppies. The dogues are having a great time, and Alisea goes bananas and runs like crazy on the field. :-)

This weekend and a few days ahead, I'm home alone. Espen brought Damien and Effi for a loooong trip around here and there, and I know they will have a great time. And when he's back, it's my turn to go away for a few days. Really looking forward to meeting good friends.

I got the clubmagazine from SADB the other day, and now I'm really looking forwrd to that trip also. :-) We always have a gret time, and this year we travel by ourselves down there, but will meet up with puppybuyers in France. It's gonna be soooo nice. I am bringing 3, possibly 4 dogues, so it will be hectic but fun.

I won't update with pics until next weekend, as Espen brought it with him. I hope to get a bunch of great pictures from their little trip. Keep checking back for updates.

July 1st:

Once again it's been a while since my last update. Time goes so fast, and I feel I can't do it all. Everything is fine here, with both doggies, puppies and people. :-) We have been working all weekend fencing in the big field. It is about 15000 square meters in total. It is quite the job, but Espen is working like a champ. Everything is done by hand, so we take it as exercise...;-) I also help a little, but without Espen it wouldn't have happened. We also have a yard that is about 4000 square meters that we will fence in, but we'll do it after the big one is finished. We hoped to finish this weekend, but we need a bit more fence to get it ready. The workdays are short now in summertime, so we can do a bit in the evening also. I think in the middle of the week, the doggies can start using their new field. We have a lot of wildlife close to the house, so we don't take the chance of them running loose without one of us being there, so it will feel much better when the work is done.

Hope everybody is enjoying their Holidays and are lucky with the weather. Norwegian summer can be very wet, but so far it has been quite good.

I hope to update with a few pics during the week.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday. :-)

June 24th:

The weekend have been very nice and quiet. We have enjoyd good food and drinks, and just kicked back. It is nice to have lazy weekends sometimes. ;-)

Today we took Modesty on her first walk in the woods. She loved it, and it was sooo exciting, and she ran around and sniffed everywhere. She kept up with the adults, but of course we took it very nice and easy and stayed on the big paths. She snored away for a loooong time after we got back home. ;-) She's now 5 months old and today the weight stopped on 32 kg.

Desiré and Donatella are busy these days discovering the big world. :-) They walk pretty good now, and gets around quite easily. They want more space, so now they have two rooms they can run around in. This coming week I am moving them downstairs in the livingroom, and they will be introduced to the other doggies. I hope it will be good weather next weekend, 'cause I'm planning on taking them outside then for the very first time. Of course that can be done even if it's raining, but it's just more cozy if it's clear weather and maybe a little sunshine. I will defenitely take more pics during the week, and it is so fun to watch them now. They play a lot and chew on each other - or me. :-) They have also tried solid food a couple of times, and the first time it wasn't that great, but today they were happy about it. But of course, there's nothing like mummy's. ;-)

Desiré and Donatella are very proud of their father who gained another CACIB and Best of Breed today at the Norwegian Kennelclub's international exhibition in Trondheim. BIG congratulations. :-)

There are new pics in D-litter and Mixgallery.

June 17th

We've had great weather this weekend - or at least on Friday and Saturday. :-) Yesterday I went to an exhibition and got sunburned, even if I was mostly in the shade. I showed Modesty for the first time, and I think she dealt with all the fuzz in a good way. She barked at the other doggies - better safe than sorry ;-) - but she found it all to be a fun experience. She got to meet lots of nice people, and she wagged her tail all the time. She loves attention. :-) We got lots of nice comments on how great she looks - even from the competition - and that was very nice. Modesty was up against a male in a higher class, and he won on movements. The judge said Modesty moved very puppylike... ;-)) Not strange considering she's only 4 1/2 months. But it was a good experience for her, and I think she showed herself even better today. We were beaten by Irene's Vera who was also in a higher class. Even if the judge preferred Modesty's type, she gave it to the other female because of the movements. It's good practice, and we'll come back again when Modesty's legs have been a bit longer and she can stretch out more. :-)) My friend Mona showed Adora from my first litter in juniorclass, and ended up as second best female but without a CK. That's fine, she's a bit overbuilt at this time, and her head is not keeping up with her body. But she will get there in time. :-)

On Saturday after the exhibition, we had a little get-together. We had a barbeque, and we really had a great time. We have to do this again soon. :-) Today I went home rather early, as both Modesty and I was very tired after the weekend. I want to say a big thank you for a wonderful weekend, and especially at huge thank you to Ekhart for always helping out with the big and the small stuff. :-)

Here's Modesty's critique from Saturday:

Very promising. Good head, eyes, ears. Very good neck, back, chest, bonemass. Well angulated. Long, good cross. Good paws. Needs ringtraining. Good coat, color and tail.

And Sundays:

4 1/2 months old, very promising. Well developed head for age, good bite, sufficient neck. Good body for age, good bonemass and good paws. Good movement for age. Good coat and color.

The puppies are now starting to move around a bit more. Although veeeeery shaky. :-)) Donatella is still the biggest one, and I am really looking forward to see how their bodies will develop. They are eating good, and Hazel are taking great care of them as always. We weighed them today, and Desiré is now 2,2 kg and Donatella is 3 kg ..... I will take some new photos later on this week. I've updated with a few pics on M-litter and mixgallery.

And finally a picture of Effi and Damien. Damien likes to have the sofa to himself, but Effi knows how to get some space too.... ;-)

June 10th:

Time for a small update again. It's still very warm here, and the dogues sleep through the day. In the evening they have fun and play.

Espen and I have a new hobby - we've started to play badminton. Haven't done that since I was 14 so it's a looooong time ago. ;-)

The puppies are doing fine. I've finally decided that the smallest one will be named Desiré and the biggest one is Donatella. I won't rush my decision on which puppy we'll keep, and I'm looking forward to see a bit more bodystructure as they develope. They both look very nice and it is not an easy pick. I would love to keep both, but then I think someone in Kolbu will be veeeery mad at me...;-)
Last time I weighed them they were 1200 grams and 1700 grams.

Modesty is also eating very well. Well, actually she isn't, but she must be getting something in her because she's now a whopping 28 kg! She really has a huge bonemass.

I'v updated with a few pics in D-litter. :-)

June 7th:

Today the puppies are one week old already. They eat well and are in good shape. Hazel is also doing fine, and find the time to inspect our property a few times a day. :-) The puppies haven't changed much just yet, but the other day the biggest one actually tried to put her legs under her. I think they will be up and about in no time.:-)

Tomorrow, our friends at Queensville are leaving for Croatia to attend the big show there. I was supposed to go with them, but since the puppies are so young, I decided to sit this one out. We wish Marie-Louise and Dan BEST OF LUCK and we hope you have a wonderful trip. We are crossing our finger for you!

I a weeks time, Modesty will make her debute in the showring. We practise a little every day, mostly so I can learn how to show her correctly. I think she is doing a great job - stands nicely, runs nicely, and there is no problems with looking at her teeth. We'll see how she reacts when she sees all the other activity going on at a show, but she has her mothers temper - happy, happy, happy - so I think it will be just fine.
Here's a picture of the little lady:

Her brother, Sumo, has been at his first show. He got BOB puppy with Honourprize, and got BIS2! Big congratulations to Annika and Svein - you are doing a great job. We think it was very well done, and it was over 30 degrees celcius so it was very hot. Here's a picture of him:

There's a few new pics at D-litter and M-litter. :-)

June 5th:

The little girls are growing nicely. They are now 700 grams and 1 kilo already. Not strange considering they have all the milk for themselves. :-) Everything is just fine with Hazel now, she hasn't had any more trouble and are a regular super-mom. She takes very good care of her babies, and hardly find time to eat. I feed her when she's lying with her puppies, up until she shows me she thinks it's okay to take a little break outside. It's very hot here these days, but the room I keep the pups in is very nice and airy. It's only sunshine there a couple of hours in the afternoon, and for now it is the best place to keep them. When they get older and starts to explore the world, I will move them downstairs in the livingroom.

The other doggies are relaxing and having fun. They get a bit warm sometimes, and then they go inside instead. I keep the door open so they can choose where they want to be.

I've updated with a few pics under D-litter and mixgallery. Enjoy :-).

June 2nd:

Our D-litter is born! Two beautiful girls - det firstborn weighed 510 grams, and the other 780 grams. Today, two days old, they are 640 grams and 820 grams. Everything started very well, on Thursday morning at 1105 the first girl was born. Then it took two hours and still no more puppies. I took her to the veterinarian and they gave her a shot to get the contractions started again. She got strong contractions but the puppy was stuck, so the vet had to turn it to get it out. Then we x-rayed to see if she was empty, and she was. She had problems breeding, it was very acute, and they gave her treatment for it, two times on Thursday and one time on Friday morning. Last time we x-rayed her heart to make sure it wasn't growing, and we also took an EKG and ultrasound. The stress had caused it, and made the heart pump weaker, so she's now on medication for a couple of weeks, and after that we hope she will be back to normal again. The last night she's been okay and have not shown any more signs of breathing problems. Even if she was very sick, she has been fantastic taking care of her two girls. We cross our fingers and hope the rest of the puppy-time will go as it should. There's a few pics under the puppies own site under Our Breeding.

Yesterday our A-litter turned one year! We didn't celebrate much here at home with Netta, but she did get something extra. We'll make up for it later. So one day delayed - HAPPY BIRTHDAY! :-))

I've also updated with a few pics under m-litter and a-litter. More pics will be on the puppy-page later on.

May 24th:

I had a very unpleasant experience yesterday. We have an oil-oven in the basement which supplies our whole house with heat. It made a funny sound so I went down there to have a look at it. Smoke and flames came out, and I rushed down to switch it off. It looked very dramatic at the time, and I was so scared thinking of what could have happened if I had left the house 5 minutes earlier. Luckily, the repairman told me it wouldn't have burned down the house, nor would the smoke have penetrated through the doors, as the smoke itself would have choced the burner so it would kind of have put it self out. I was pretty shook up for a few hours afterwards, but I am so happy nothing bad happended.

I've taken a few pics of the doggies playing in the yard. We have sunny days, but it's windy so it doesn't get too hot for them. They stay outside all day as long as they want to, and their favourite playtoy is tennisballs. Especially Hazel, Netta and Frida loooooves them, and one of them - I think it's Frida - chews them to pieces... Not exactly the most expensive toy, and they have a lot of fun with it, so we do stock up occationally. :-) Sometimes they take one of the rugs and use it for tug-of-war....it's so fun to watch them, especially when they see me in the window and acts like little innocent angels - "I haven't done aaaanything". :-)

You can see the pictures in Mix gallery. Enjoy. :-)

May 20th:

Time for a little update again. We've had a nice and quiet week as usual. No exhibitions this time, just relaxation for big and "small". Our friends at Kennel Doguehill's got both BOB and BOS, and also BOB puppy at the Int. show in Hässleholm, Sweden on Friday. BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Kalle and Carina. Kennel Belburgo got best breedclass, and also BIG congratulations on that too. :-)

Things are just as normal here. Hazel is doing fine and seems to have a very good pregnancy this time. A bit fuzzy about her food, but that is nothing new when it comes to her. :-) She is fit and healthy, and very eager to join us on our walks. She has slowed down the pace a little, and is doing just fine. Everything seems to be going as is should, and in a few weeks we will be very busy again. :-) I'm really looking forward to having summer-puppies again. It is so nice for them to be outside to play and discover the big world.

Our good Swedish friends, Elisabeth and Jussi, got their first litter last week. Ester gave birth to 9 puppies and everything went well. You can see them here: Kennel Hjärtekulla. Congratulations! :-)

Modesty is growing nicely. I've measured her today, and her vitals are: head: 44cm, chest: 66cm, hight at the withers: 49cm and weight: 22,8 kg. She is now 16 weeks old, and I think she looks very promising. She has great movements and are so good at practising for the ring. It will be fun to see her in her first show, if she can manage to concentrate on showing. It's still a little time ahead, and in the mean time we're just having fun.

That's all for now. I've updated mix-gallery.

May 13th:

This weekend there has been exhibition in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. We had entered Effi for Swedish Winner in Uppsala, but unfortunately she stretched her leg on Thursday. Tried to massage it up, but it was too sore for her. She didn't limp, but she got uncomfortable. And I don't think 7 hours in the car would have done it any better, so we decided to sit this one out. Instead I went with my friend to the Norwegian Kennelclubs exhib in Kristiansand. Adora got a honourprize, but the judge wanted her head to be bigger. Adoras body is very well developed for only being 11 monts and her head is a little behind at this stage. I have no doubs she will gain several CAC's in the future, and in the mean time it's great with some exercise. :-)

There were also two junior males, they didn't get placed but they look good and in time I am sure they will get more CAC's. It was a very nice day around the ring, and both owners of the males showed sportsmanship and kept their "hotheads" well away from eachother in the ring. It is very nice to see when people act the proper way. :-)

Our Danish friends at Kennel Queensville showed their two girls Lola and Enchi in DK on Sunday. Lola got CAC and BOB and Enchi was 2 best female with CK. BIG CONGRATULATIONS!

Here's a few pics from Kristiansand:

A beautiful young girl

Great body!

Warming up outside the ring

Anton found Adora veeeeery interesting. She was at the end of her heat. :-)

Broxx relaxing ringside.

May 5th:

We have wonderful weather these days. Nice and relaxing days with sunshine. The doggies are outside most of the day, playing and relaxing. It is nice to think of all the wonderful, sunny days that are ahead of us.

I had planned to go to Zagreb, but since we have puppies at that time, I'm not going. The puppies will be very young at that time, and it doesn't feel right to leave them. But there will be other opportunities to go to big exhibitions, and France is still on. :-)

Modesty is growing and growing. I weighed her yesterday, and she was 18,8 kg. I keep her slim, she has big bonemass and it will be heavy for her body to carry too much extra. Here is a picture of the young lady playing in the yard:

As I wrote above, we will have summer-puppies again. :-) I took Hazel to the veterinary to make an ultrasound, and there they were...:-) Actually I was sure she wasn't pregnant, because she has not been showing any special signs of it, until the other day I saw she had some slime back there. Then I understood she did take after all, but since I already made an appointment with my vet, I decided to go there to have a looksie. I'm born curiouos...;-) It is so fun to see the puppies pop up on the screen. :-))

Today my horse turns 18 years old. Sjokko is in Sweden, at Kennel Doguehill's stable. He is taken good care of by Camilla and her mother. Camilla sends me reports on how he's doing, and he's still a little rascal. He and his friend, Lasse, have fun during the days. The best is if it's wet and they can roll around in the mud (HMMM...sounds familiar...;-)....) Camilla promised me some pictures of him, and I'm really looking forward to see them. Thank you for taking such good care of my boy!

I also have to tell you about Peppi.... Masque Marron's Metz from our last litter. She lives in Finland with Tero and his family. Tero has a friend who trains rescue with his dog. They brought Peppi along to see what she would think of it. The trainer is very impressed with her courage and how quickly she learns and thinks that Peppi will do great at this. It was so fun to hear, and we wish Peppi and her family good luck with the training. Who knows, maybe one day Peppi will rescue and find someone who is lost.

I've updated with a few pics in mixgallery. Hope you enjoy them. Thank's for stopping by.

April 22nd:

It's raining and raining.....the weather is so boring. I guess we get a little spoiled with all the great sunny days we've had lately. The dogs are bored too, they don't want to be outside and play in the yard in this weather. Understandable since it's just wet and dirty (however, wet and dirty seems to be VERY good when they are on their walks in the woods....). It's nice and quiet here now, they are all sleeping. Even the little mini-terrorist is relaxing and sleeping most of the time. Usually she is so active and she keeps me very busy when I try to keep her off chewing on the table (which is made out of wood and of course gives that nice resistance when she chews), not to drag the toiletpaper around the house, and of course - the curtains is a lot of fun to play with. Of course you all recognize this if you ever had a puppy, and the good thing is that they do grow up....aventually...;-) I weighed Modesty yesterday, and she was 15,6 kg and her height was about 41 cm. A bit difficult to keep her still more than a couple of seconds at a time.;-)

Modesty has been on her 12-weeks check and everythiing was just fine. She was a brave girl this time (living more up to her name Modesty Blaise...;-)......) and took her shots without objection. I also brought Effi to get the vet to check her a little to see if everything was fine after she had puppies. All is good, and she said she looks great and are in good shape, which is promising now that we have a couple of shows coming up.

That's all for now - enjoy the sunny days when you have them.:-)

April 9th:

The Easter is almost ower. We've had some wonderful days. We actually got snow again yesterday. Too bad since the ground started to dry up, but we can't do anything about the weather. The doggies thought it was great fun, and I've updated a couple of the galleries with some pics from yesterday and today.

Yesterday we met up with Espen's parents in Oslo, so Modesty could discover life in the big city.;-) She had a lot of fun, and was happy to meet all the people who wanted to say hallo, and she didn't mind childern or weelchairs or bikes and all the noise. We'll see how she reacts at her first exhibition, but that is still a few months away. It's possible I will bring her as a guest to a small show at the end of this month. I'm just going there to have a look as it isn't so far away from me.

We've spent Easter cleaning up outside. The dogs have been given a lot of toys during the winter, and they ripped them upen and picked out the white filling, which surfaced when the snow went away. Also the wind "helped", so it was all over the fields. From now on I'm not giving them toys like that.:-)) We've also spent a lot of time with the doggies, walking them in the woods and playing with them.

Other than that not much is new. Hazel and Jaxx have met, so now we just have to wait patiently to see if Hazel gets any bigger during Spring. This time I remembered to measure her belly, so I can compare a little later.

That's all for now. Thank's for stopping by. Have a great day.:-)

April 3rd:

It's been almost one month since the last time I wrote here. Feels like just a couple of weeks, but time goes so fast. The Easter-celebration is coming up, and we have gorgeous weather. Sunny days, and mild temperature.

A couple of weeks ago, the little ones left for their new homes. Espen brought 4 puppies to our friends house in Sweden, and they had an "open house" so the puppybuyers didn't have to come all the way to our place. Saved some of them about 400km. Thank you so much to Annika and Svein for entertaining, and serving lunch and all. The puppybuyers will keep in contact with each other, and I think that is so nice. Minx and Manolito left a couple of days earlier than the others. Martin from Denmark picked them up and flew with them back home.

I have to say I am over the moon with my puppybuyers. They are so kind and sends me lots of pictures and e-mails telling me how everything is going, and allowing me to follow the puppies as they grow. It is very important for me to have good contact with my puppybuyers, and when they also want to keep in touch with me, I couldn't be happier.

Modesty is growing nicely. She's now weighing 12 kg. She has a lot of bonemass.:-) Tomorrow she is 10 weeks old. We have just started taking her out to the city so she can meet people and get socialized. She is very happy to meet people and are positive and happy.

Other than that, everything is as usual here. The dogs are outside enjoying the sun most of the day. I have now started training Effi again. She is on her way to getting back in shape, but still needs much more muscles, but we are not rushing things. She will be ready in time for her next exhibition anyways.:-)

We've planned a couple of trips abroad during the summer and fall. I am really looking forward to it, especially the breed-special in France where I hopefully will have 3 dogues to show this year. I am also going to Zagreb for the European Winnershow, and that will be great too. More about that later.

I finish off by wishing you all a Happy Easter.

March 2nd:

It's been far to long since I wrote here last time. Time flyes and I am pretty busy these days with 8 little terrorists that has discovered the joy of chewing on the furniture or each other...They keep me going all day.:-) They turned 5 weeks last Wednesday, and are eating like little horses.
The other day I had some old colleagues visiting and the fell head over heals in the puppies. Not that it's a surprise - what is cuter than ddb puppies...? Effi thought it was SO fun with company, and of course that means she gets a lot of attention...;-) This weekend and next week, we'll be having puppybuyers over so they can choose their little prince or princess. I am looking forward to meet all of them.
And I've finally decided which female stays with us. Her name will be Modesty Blaise, but I'm not sure what to call her on a daily basis. The rest of the puppynames will be put on their site sometime next week, when I know which dog goes where and ends up with what name. Here is a picture of my little princess:

Today it is such a beautiful weather outside. The sun is shining every now and then, and it's about +5 degrees. Feels like Easter....:-) It was so nice to feel the sunrays warm my face again. Really looking forward to Spring now.

I've updated with a few pics in mixgallery. I took them this morning, so they are a bit dark. And of course there are more pics on the puppy-page.:-)

Hope you have a nice weekend, and thank's for stopping by.

February 7th:

Today the puppies are two weeks old already, and have been given their first de-worming. It says on the package that it tastes good....well....judging by the puppies expression, and shaking of their heads told me they were disagreeing big-time..:-) But it has to be done, so they just have to take it.
I've removed the stiches on Effi's tummy, and everything looks just fine. I also weighed her, and was a bit surprised when it showed 58 kg. I thought she was a bit on the skinny side, but I guess it's ok.:-)
The little ones are growing nicely. They are about to open their eyes, and I'm looking forward to see the little blue ones.:-) It won't be long now before they are up and running around. I can see their personalities are developing. Some are very forward and lets you know loud and clear if they are unhappy with something. Others are more laid back and takes life as it comes- at least for now.
Individual pictures of the puppies will be presented later tonight. In the meantime - take a look at these cutie-pies:

:-)))) By the way - the white markings in funny places are tipex...:-)

February 2nd:

It's about time I wrote something here again. I am so busy these days, with 8 little cuties in the litterbox. Effi got 4 girls and 5 boys, but one boy died unfortunately the next day. The rest of them are happy, healthy and sound, and eats like horses. Here's a couple of pics:

I am just so happy about our puppybuyers. I know we have found just the right people for this litter. I know there are 7 families just waiting and waiting, and thinking that the next 7 weeks is a drag. I know how it feels - it's terrible and the days goes by sooooo slowly. I try to take lots of pics to send to them, but I have to admit, I'm a bit tired. Normally I sleep poorly, and since I wake up every time the little ones makes a noise....well.... And let me tell you - they KNOW how to let you know if something isn't right. Either they aren't laying as they want to, they don't get the milk fast enough, they don't get a tit at all or they want the same one as one of the other has....Boy it's gonna be fun when they open their eyes and want to see more of the world...;-)

Effi is coping great with motherhood. Unfortunately she had to have an c-section as her water broke but she didn't get the contractions. I brought her to the veterinarian, and he said it didn't look good, and just wanted to get the puppies out as fast as possible. Luckily, everything worked out fine, both with Effi and the puppies. As I mentioned before, one of the males died the next day. I guess that's nature....he was looking healthy and was eating well, but suddenly he just faded away. It was a bit sad, and I've only had one litter before where everything went well, but it was an experience.

The rest of the dogues are doing great. Of course there's not much exciting happening, but this week my husband stayed at home with me, and took extra care of them.:-) Hazel is not too happy, she would really like to be in the puppycrate.....but next time it will be her turn.:-)

We are going to keep a female from this litter with Effi x Enzo. It's not easy to tell which one it will be as they are all so beautiful, but I'm sure I will make up my mind.;-)

Thank's for stopping by and following our little family. I'm gonna take some more pics in a few days. Have a lovely weekend.

January 21st:

The days are just flying away, and I wait and long until the day we have little ones in the house again. :-) Here is a picture of Effi that I took this morning:

She's on day 58 counted from the first mating, but we will see when things start to happen. She is doing just fine, sleeps a lot and are more fussy with her food. Not strange, since she doesn't have much room in her belly anymore. I feed her only a little food several times a day, and I've made pancakes which are highly appreciated.:-) We have finally got some snow, and the doggies are having a ball. Netta and Alisea are running around like crazy. It's not so cold either, so they can be outside for a while. And then it is nice to come inside again where it's nice and warm, and get some pancakes and pigsear.;-)
That's all for now, I'll update some more in a few days. Have a nice Sunday.

January 15th:

The days are going by in a slowly pace. Effi's tummy is growing, and growing, and growing. I love watching her, and see how her shape changes, sometimes even from day to day. She still sleeps a lot, but are happy to go for a walk. She is such a big baby....even if she is starting to get big, and a mom-to-be, she still have so much fun running after the other doggies if they have a harness with a line attached to it. She's been doing it from the day she came her, just 8 weeks old, and she doesn't seem to want to let go of her "hobby" any time soon. :-) Here's a picture of her that I took a few days ago.

She is bigger now, she actually gained two cm in one day....:-) We will see how many little ones she actually have - you never know. I've started to prepare for having the puppies. I've bought extra towels, and a foodbar so it will be easier to fee the puppies when that time comes. It has place for 6 puppies at a time. You can see it here.
I think time has gone by pretty quick, but now I've started the countdown. My sister is expecting puppies any day now, so I will join her to learn a bit more.
There's still no new pictures in the galleries, but hopefully it will some there very soon. Have a nice week.

January 8th :

New year - and new opportunities. Hope you've all had a wonderful Christmas- and New Years-celebrations. We've had it nice and quiet, with family and friends visiting. We and the doggies have had a good time, with great food and lots of goodies. The weather have been up and down - every other day it's been raining. Now the yard is full of ice, which makes it pretty dangerous to walk out there, but luckily we have the fields so the doggies can get some exercise. Effi is not along for the longest walks, but she is happy just strolling around on her fields. She is in good health, but she is very tired so she sleeps a lot. Exhausting to be pregnant I guess...:-) In just a few weeks, the little ones will be here. I think the time has gone pretty fast, and are really looking forward to seeing them. I've started to buy stuff I might need, and next weekend I'm off to a small exhibition where it will be possible to buy blankets and other neet things.
We have decided to have one more litter here this year. Hazel will be mated with Jaxx, and we are hoping for some really beautiful puppies after these two stunning parents. This will be Hazel's second and last litter. In my opinion, Jaxx is an outstanding bordeaux. He has that special extra which I think only very few dogues has. If Hazel follows her cyclus, she should be in heat sometime in March. She appears to want to have puppies now, and looks as if she is ready to stand in for Effi...;-)
Thank you for following our little family this year to. We'll try to take some new pics this week, we're just waiting for the weather to clear up. Hope you all have a nice week.:-)
